Heidi Rieck, MPH

Heidi is a Research Area Specialist working with Michigan OPEN. She received her Master of Public Health degree in Epidemiology with a minor in Integrative Therapies from the University of Minnesota. Prior to Michigan OPEN, Heidi developed mental health prevention initiatives for college students, implemented upstream public health intervention for adolescents via service with AmeriCorps, and conducted research studies about holistic health treatment options for clinic patients. Heidi is interested in bettering health through creative, evidence-based, and forward-thinking practices. She is excited about Michigan OPEN’s work in prevention, as she believes prevention is critical for reducing the burden of the opioid epidemic and improving health for all people.
