Joan Kellenberg, MS, MPH
MEDIC Project Lead
Joan Kellenberg is the Michigan OPEN / MEDIC Project Lead and brings public health, academic research and clinical background to the role. She earned a BA from the University of Notre Dame, a Master of Science from the University of Illinois – Chicago and a Master of Public Health (Global Health & Epidemiology) from Boston University. Her clinical work as a bilingual family nurse practitioner was primarily in federally qualified health centers in Chicago, Southeast Michigan and New Hampshire and was focused on health disparities in underserved communities. She has worked in academic research at Boston University and the University of Michigan for 15 years and is eager to promote widespread Naloxone distribution in emergency departments throughout Michigan to decrease opioid overdose deaths.
