Painless: The Opioid Musical
Inspired by true stories of opioid addiction and recovery, Painless: The Opioid Musical is a collaboration between Michigan OPEN, Precision Health at the University of Michigan, and the University of Michigan School of Music, Theatre & Dance. This production is a work in progress (expected completion late 2019). It will be performed for middle and high school students, accompanied by discussion and education.
U-M rising senior Jacob Ryan Smith developed the musical and performed two of the songs with Emma Ashford, also a U-M rising senior, at the Opioids: Policy to Practice summit. See below for a video of the performance.
