Emergency Departments are in a unique position to help people struggling with opioid addiction. ED visits may be an individual’s only interaction with healthcare and presents a vital opportunity to begin Medication for Opioid Use Disorder (MOUD)Treatment. Ensuring patients have a care pathway for continued support after leaving the acute care setting is key to their success and can be challenging. Join us to learn real-word implementation strategies for bridging patients started on MOUD in the Emergency Department to long term care.

- Describe the importance of identifying and developing partners within your hospital system.
- Outline ways to build a network of community partners.
- Demonstrate how to create a procedure for referral to an outpatient treatment provider.
