Michigan OPEN Co-Directors on panel at National Prescription Drug Abuse and Heroin Summit with BCBSM and MDHHS
Michigan OPEN co-directors, Jenn Waljee MD and Chad Brummett MD, alongside Chris Priest (Medicaid Director for the Department of Health and Human Services), and Tom Leyden (Director II, Value Partnerships Program at Blue Cross Blue Shield of Michigan) were featured presenters at the National Prescription Drug and Heroin Summit in Atlanta, Georgia last week.
This partnered presentation, and the panel that followed, allowed a unique audience of approximately 100 attendees of various professional backgrounds such as physicians, social workers, nurses, substance-abuse counselors, and dentists, to hear about the dynamic partnership between Michigan OPEN, BCBSM, and MDHHS.
Michigan OPEN also exhibited at the Rx Summit this year, where the Michigan OPEN staff was available during all exhibiting hours to discuss the work being done at Michigan OPEN, distribute patient education materials, answer questions, and network with other great professionals all working together to combat the opioid epidemic in the United States.
