Pediatric Pain Management Printed Materials Program

OPEN is pleased to offer an opportunity to apply for FREE printed materials for pediatric best practices in pain management. These materials can help patients, families and providers make a plan for pain before the child’s surgery and manage acute pain following their operation. Available materials include:

  • Postcard and business card sized handouts with a QR code that parents and families can use to quickly and easily access online resources
  • Worksheets to aid parents and providers in making a plan for post-surgical pain management
  • Brochures on Non-Medication Pain Management for pediatric patients
  • A Toolkit for surgical pain management that includes best practices, free educational materials, and sharable resources

Organizations can apply using the link below to place a request order. OPEN will review applications, notify applicants of awards by email, and provide up to the amount of materials requested directly to their organization. OPEN will also provide awardees with our Pediatric Website link to share information and guidance on pediatric opioid prescribing for providers and educational tools for patients and their families.

  • Completion of a brief six-month follow up survey to assess how distribution went.
  • Email applicant of award status.
  • Provide awardee with up to the amount of materials requested within two months of application submission.

Do we have to distribute all of the materials by the end of the six months? 

  • No. We hope that the materials get used promptly but it is not required to complete distribution by the end of the project period.

If we distribute all of the materials, can we request more?

  • Yes! Please complete the application form a second time to request additional materials. Determination on the second round of awards will be made on a case-by-case basis.

Does our organization have to be a surgical center to request materials?

  • No. If your organization works in pediatrics and could benefit from these materials, please apply.

Will the QR codes expire?

  • No, the QR codes are updated by OPEN to be accurate at all times. Please contact OPEN if you notice a malfunction.
