Implementation of a Naloxone Vending Machine in the Public Space of an Emergency Department: A Feasibility and Acceptability Study

  • Nearly half of vending machine users (46.2%) would not have otherwise had access to naloxone.
  • High acceptability was reported among all 3 Likert-style questions evaluating the acceptability of the naloxone vending machine in the emergency department setting.
  • Participants expressed thankfulness and the potential impact of the ED-based naloxone vending machine to save lives.
