Mary Neff

Mary joined the Michigan OPEN advisory board in 2018. She is currently a consultant with the Transitions of Care (TOC) project. Working as a Nurse Anesthetist at Michigan Medicine for more than 20 years has provided her a unique opportunity to observe opioid utilization trends for surgical patients and development of the opioid epidemic. “Lived experience” drives her passion to educate healthcare providers, to develop best practices for anesthetic care delivery and pain management, and to help those with opioid use disorder, especially those in recovery or with chronic pain who require surgery. She also serves on the Advisory Board for the Washtenaw Chapter of Families Against Narcotics.
