Melissa is a Licensed Professional Counselor and has her Advanced Alcohol and Drug Certification. Melissa serves as a behavioral health specialist with OPEN. Melissa has experience in mental health and substance use disorder (SUD) treatment, harm reduction, and patient-centered care. With a background in clinical assessments, program development, and community engagement, Melissa specializes in integrating harm reduction strategies into healthcare settings. Melissa has led stigma education initiatives, helped developt implementation toolkits for office-based addiction treatment, and provided training on addiction neurobiology, trauma, and medication for addiction treatment. As a Behavioral Health Specialist for OPEN, Melissa fosters community engagement with OPEN’s educations resources and programs, supports client connections to SUD treatment and works to expand provider, patient, and community education.
