Michael Englesbe, MD

Dr. Englesbe, is a professor of surgery in the Section of Transplantation Surgery. His research is concerned with the relationship between the costs and quality of surgical care, and also specifically focuses on patient frailty, morphomics (the analysis of human body factors derived from medical imaging to understand how variations impact and predict patient risk and outcomes), and surgical outcomes and post-operative opioid utilization. He is also the associate director of the Michigan Surgical Quality Collaborative (MSQC) and co-directs the Michigan Opioid Prescribing Engagement Network (Michigan OPEN).
