
Zahra Dawson, MPH
Zahra is a Program Specialist focused on quality improvement initiatives in pediatrics and public health policy. She is also passionate about youth engagement, overseeing the OPEN Youth Board and Painless: The Opioid Musical program. Before joining the team, Zahra served as an AmeriCorps VISTA with the Opioid Prevention and Education Network at Michigan State University and the Greater Detroit Area Health Council, where she worked to develop stigma reduction and policy advocacy tools. She has also coordinated community-based patient-centered outcomes research and has experience with evaluation for educational programming.
Zahra is interested in collaborative and innovative prevention practices that make healthy choices accessible and equitable for all. She received her Master of Public Health from Wayne State University with a concentration in Population Health Analytics and a BSPH from the University of Michigan.
