Zahra Dawson

Zahra works as a Clinical Subjects Coordinator focused on quality improvement initiatives in pediatrics and health care policy. Before joining OPEN, Zahra served as an AmeriCorps VISTA with the Michigan State University Opioid Prevention and Engagement Network and the Greater Detroit Area Health Council, where she coordinated the Southeast Michigan Alliance for Addiction-Free Communities and worked on creating stigma reduction and policy advocacy tools.

Zahra is interested in collaborative and innovative prevention practices that make healthy choices accessible and equitable for all. Zahra earned a Bachelor of Science in Public Health from the University of Michigan. She is a Master of Public Health student at Wayne State University and plans to attend medical school.
